Symptoms of Brain Trauma for Infants and Toddlers
It is sometimes more difficult to recognize a brain injury in an infants or a young child. They may not have the skills to communicate their symptoms to you. Here are some commons symptoms for infants and young children with traumatic brain injury:
- Changes in eating or nursing habits.
- Constant crying.
- An increase in irritability.
- Changes in attention span.
- Change in sleep habits.
- Loss of interest in usual activities.
When To See a Doctor
Do not hesitate to see a doctor if you child hits their head hard from falling or from any other accident. I also recommend seeing a doctor if you child has any of the common symptoms of brain injury. Even a mild brain injury requires attention and treatment.
